Wedding Trends: Food Trucks & Midnight SnacksMay 19, 2015 by The Marquardt Ranch
Nothing screams “PARTY” louder than great food and great music. After last week’s post, you’re well equipped in the music department. Now you just need the food to match. Everyone loves a fancy, plated dinner or a multi-station buffet, but these days the trends are revolving around mobile food.
Frankly, you haven’t lived until you’ve eaten a taco from an authentic food truck. You may choose to replace your entire meal with various food truck options or you may simply make the food truck a bonus bite. Whichever you choose, we suggest picking food that represents you as a couple. Have Mexican on your first date? A taco truck! Get engaged on Chinese New Year? A Ramen truck! Is grilled cheese and tomato soup your kitchen specialty? A grilled cheese truck!
Almost every city has food truck review websites available. A quick Google search will tell you all you need to know about the truck reference you got from a friend. Do your research and then let your guests loose on a wedding element they surely won’t forget.
Once the sparklers burn off or the horse drawn carriage pulls away, your guests will wander back inside, tired from the greatest dancing of their lives and probably a little bit hungry, too. What’s a better way to end the night than offering a quick, grab-and-go midnight snack before they head home?
Whether it’s donuts and decaf coffee, cookies and milk or another round of wedding cake, nothing says “We’re so glad you came!” like comfort food. Personalize this round of treats with a monogrammed cookie or paper cups that bear your wedding date. Display a sign on the serving table that says “Thanks for coming!” or send treats home with guests in a paper or cellophane bag as party favors.
Whatever you choose in the realm of bonus bites and treats, let your guests know that you’re so glad they made the trip to celebrate alongside you and your groom. These little details will be the ones that set you apart in the minds of your sweet friends and family for years to come!
