Planning a wedding is not for the faint of heart. There are countless details, names, and numbers to remember. But it is so important for brides to make time to relax before their big day. Try some (or all!) of these ideas to take a break from planning and get rid of those wedding nerves.

  1. Get a Massage

We’re not sure there’s anything more relaxing than a massage, and if anyone deserves it, it’s you! Schedule a massage the week before your wedding to start wedding week off the right way.

  1. Take a Bubble Bath

You’re never too old for a bubble bath. Grab your favorite bath bomb or salt, light a few candles, and turn on your favorite playlist. Pour a glass of wine and make yourself relax for at least 30 minutes—and try not to think about any wedding planning!

  1. Have a Tea Party

Get the girls together for a classic tea party. Brew your favorite tea, munch on some cucumber sandwiches, and wear a fancy hat. Drink chamomile tea for an extra dose of relaxation. (If you really can’t avoid last-minute details, use this time with your girl squad to check a task off your list!)

  1. Get a Pedicure

You want your nails to look perfect on your big day, so treat yourself to a pedicure and soak up every minute. Put your phone down and enjoy a little pampering.

  1. Have a Movie Night

We’re talking all the chick flicks and popcorn! This is such a fun way to celebrate with your girls. It’s also a great opportunity to ugly cry together and get all those bottled-up emotions out.

  1. Go on a Date

You’ve probably been so consumed with wedding planning that your date life has been pushed to the back burner. The week before your wedding is the perfect time to go on a special date with your man. Promise each other you won’t talk about wedding planning; focus more on how excited you are to finally be married!

If you’re a bookworm, de-stress by picking up a new book or re-reading one of your favorites. No wedding magazines allowed!

  1. Get Active

Physical activity releases endorphins and reduces stress. Go for a run or swim to clear your head and get those happy chemicals flowing.

  1. Diffuse Good Vibes

It’s time to put those essential oils to good use! Diffuse lavender, frankincense, and orange for the most relaxing aroma and soothing effect. If you don’t have essential oils, light your favorite candle and relax away.

  1. Do Your Favorite Thing

Bake cookies, paint a picture, write a poem. Take a walk, eat ice cream, organize your bedroom. You know you best, and now is the time to take care of yourself. Whether that’s playing with puppies or taking a nap, carve out time the week before your wedding to unwind and enjoy this special time of your life.
