Connect with The Marquardt RanchSeptember 12, 2016 by The Marquardt Ranch
In this day and age of easy-to-access technology, the problem isn’t finding information, but rather knowing where to look. A vast variety of social networking sites offer future brides a range of tools they can use for inspiration, connecting, and planning. This week, we’d like to offer a brief description of several different social media sites, and just what makes them useful for future brides. In doing so, we invite you to connect with The Marquardt Ranch!
Designed for short and sweet updates, Twitter has a limit of 140 characters per post. This does not, however, mean that it is less useful than any other of the sites on this list. Ideal for quick blurbs and links, this site allows brides-to-be to search for different topics and add their own images and posts to the pool of information by searching for or adding hashtags.
Facebook is particularly useful for social networking. This particular site is the all-around generalist of the list, allowing you to share text-based posts and updates, images, videos, and links. Most people have a Facebook account and use their real name rather than a username, making it easy for brides to find and connect with friends and family members. You can also use it to create an event—perhaps for your bridal shower—and coordinate with your guests through a page made specifically for the event.
Launched in 2010 as a mobile app, Instagram allows brides-to-be to connect with people and places through photo and video sharing, as well as brief captions for each. Like Twitter, hashtags are used to link ideas together. This site is particularly useful for people who like picture-based updates rather than text-based updates.
Pinterest is a haven for crafters, foodies, and lovers of beautiful images. It is incredibly useful for inspiration for brides as well. Users organize their ‘Pins’ in different collections known as boards, organizing images according to a designated theme. This site is particularly useful if you want to organize your pictures in different sections—perhaps have a board for hairstyles, another for décor possibilities, and another for wedding and bridesmaid dresses.
Designed as a site specifically for sharing reviews and images of wedding-related information, the Knot is undoubtedly the site most focused on matrimonial planning. Your one-stop shop for all wedding planning needs, from videographers to venues to vendors, this is definitely the most specialized site in this list. Brides-to-be should find an invaluable wealth of information and resources here!
We’re looking forward to connecting with you!
