3 Things to Do in Boerne Pre-WeddingDecember 12, 2016 by The Marquardt Ranch
While the list of things to check off your planning list in the days leading up to your wedding may seem endless, sometimes it’s good to take a break from all the preparation and take in the sites and scenes around you. Whether you’re looking for a day of hiking, samples of the local brews, or something else entirely, there is no shortage of attractions to offer some well-deserved relaxation before your big day.
If you have a love for the great outdoors, Boerne has an absolutely fantastic array of outdoor adventures from which to pick. For those who enjoy spelunking, Cascade Caverns is a popular site, along with the mysterious natural landmark, Cave Without a Name. Both locations offer a number of rock formations and extensive tours. Best of all, the underground air is perpetually cool, making these locations a welcome relief from summer sun.
A second outdoor option for a pre-wedding outdoor adventure is trail rides. Situated as it is in the Hill Country of Texas, Boerne offers a number of opportunities for a taste of more traditional ways of travel. A number of locations, like Stricker Trail Rides, offer horseback riding tours of the countryside.
If you prefer your adventures to take place above ground and under the open sky, there are plenty of other outdoor opportunities as well. A number of parks offer gorgeous hiking trails, like the Kreutzberg Canyon Natural Area. With three miles of trails, blinds for viewing wildlife, and tables, you can come for a day of hiking, or just a picnic lunch. Alternatively, you could pay a visit to the ducks at River Road Park or walk the Inspiration Gardens at the Cibolo Nature Center.
Wine and Brewery Tours
For alcohol aficionados, Boerne and the surrounding countryside offer a number of wineries and breweries. Whether you prefer wine, beer, or something a bit stronger, Boerne has something for every palate. Cottonwood Wine Tours offers a range of tastings with a splendid view of the countryside. If porters or pale ale are more your speed, consider the laid-back charm of the Kinematic Brewing Company or a weekend sampling at the Boerne Brewery. Then again, maybe you prefer sipping on more substantial spirits. If so, the Hill Country Distillers or the Edwards Ridge Distillery Company are a few of the great choices in the area.
Shopping and Pampering
Along with the offerings listed above, visitors to the Boerne area can find antique malls, spas, pottery studios, and shopping for all. Send the men out to the PGA quality golf courses, and hit the malls and spas for some pre-wedding pampering. Regardless of your interests, Boerne is sure to have something for you.
