2017 Trends—The Décor

March 13, 2017 by The Marquardt Ranch

Hey, y’all! We’re back this week with another post in our 2017 Trends series, and this time, it’s all about wedding day décor. While some trends seem to be hanging on for the long haul, others are new to 2017. Take a look at these three décor trends for 2017!

Natural/Rustic

This is a long-standing classic style of décor, and it doesn’t look like it will fade out of style any time soon. You can achieve this type of décor by aiming for exposed wood grains, deep, earthy colors or natural pastels, and natural flower arrangements. Rather than trying to make sure everything matches perfectly, embrace natural asymmetry and consider mixing and matching centerpieces, whether it be the containers they’re in or the flowers, greenery, or succulents they contain.

Paper

Gone are the days of paper indicating a cheap food joint. Nowadays, brides are incorporating paper into all sorts of areas of their wedding décor! The range of paper products, qualities, and designs are as vast as anything else, and well worth looking into. Whether you’re looking for a cute photo op, some chic hanging lanterns, or dramatic and elegant chair decorations, paper products can be a unique way to bring fresh and innovative additions to your wedding venue.

Hanging Decorations

Typical venues have plenty of space between the ceiling and the floor, so make use of all that open and otherwise wasted space by incorporating hanging decorations into your décor. Hanging decorations are extremely versatile, as you can find some that work with just about any theme. Hanging boughs of flowers like wisteria add an enchanting and ethereal atmosphere, while draped fabrics and string lights can call to mind terraced cafes in the European countryside. If you’re looking for a more traditional type of hanging decoration, candle-filled chandeliers make lovely and elegant additions to the décor. Plus, with modern battery-operated candles, you don’t have to worry about them being a fire hazard.

What 2017 trend will you be incorporating into your wedding?

Happy planning!
